Surat (Gujarat) [India]: If you think the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Maharashtra’s cabinet minister Eknath Shinde were discussing serious politics during their stay at the Le Meridian hotel on the Surat-Dumas Road last week then you are mistaken. They were boozing and partying at the hotel in the ‘dry’ state of Gujarat.

In a tweet, Sudhir Suryawanshi has stated that the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs stayed at the four-star hotel in Surat and the hotel bill is pending. The rooms were booked for the MLAs in the name of some government officers on the name of A, B, AB, etc. Out of the pending hotel bill, the liquor bill has a major share. In the city located in the dry state of Gujarat, the Shiv Sena MLAs faced a shortage of liquor and therefore they were shifted to Guwahati for fun and frolic.

Maharashtra cabinet minister Eknath Shinde and 40 rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena left the Le Meridian hotel in Surat and were flown to Guwahati in Assam on June 22. Some 7 independent legislators, who were accompanying the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs also flew to Guwahati from Surat.

The rebel MLAs were taken to the Surat airport in a luxury bus during the early hours of June 22.

Serious questions have been raised about the government officers who booked rooms for the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs at Surat’s Le Meridian hotel.
