Surat (Gujarat) [India]: The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Western Zone) has organised a national tax conference ‘Surat Tax Conference’  where the experts will share their knowledge on the burning issues faced by the trade and industry concerning the GST, new provisions in the Income-Tax reassessment, etc. on April 30.

Mitish Modi, chairman of the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Western Zone) said that the vice-president of Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal (Ahmedabad Zone), Pramod M Jagtap will remain present as the chief guest at the ‘Surat Tax Conference’ being organised at the Marriot Hotel in Athwalines.

The trade and industries, especially the diamond, textile, and real estate sectors have been facing a lot of difficulties over the new provisions of the re-assessment under the Income Tax Act. Many entrepreneurs from the diamond, textile, and real estate sectors have knocked on the doors of the Gujarat High Court for resolving the issue and the re-assessment notices issued by the I-T department.

According to Modi, similarly, trade and industry are facing immense difficulties under the GST Law. The filing of returns, scrutiny, inspection, and raids by the department on the units and factories have cast a dark shadow on the smooth operations of business activities.

“Till now over 300 people have registered to participate in the conference from Thane, Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, Nasik, Nagpur, Varanasi, Jaipur, Amritsar, etc. The majority of the participants are advocates and CAs.
