The week-long programme held between October 9 to October 15 was conducted by Dr. Sadafara Pillai, Assistant Professor & Coordinator- Chemistry Program, SOS, and Dr. Anish Kumar Sharma Associate Professor & Principal, SOS as the coordinators under the guidance of Dr. Parag Sanghani, Provost, PPSU and support from Sneh Savani, director, PPSU, Dr. Satish Biradar, Registrar, PPSU, Dr. Bindesh Patel Deputy Registrar.
The FDP received an overwhelming response with more than 300 participants from different backgrounds like Research, Basic Sciences, Engineering, Management, Arts, Commerce, Para Medical etc.from several nationally acclaimed Universities and Colleges of India.
The experts for the session were Professors and Scientists affiliated to Nationally acclaimed Institutions like IIT Roorkee, IIT Gandhinagar, NCL Pune, and SVNIT Surat to name a few.
This program was contemplated to explore the basic dimensions of research and to bring awareness about the data analysis skills and the concomitant need for participants to rethink the assumptions that underlie historic paradigms of research. It included recent development in research methods, research publication, publication ethics, and availability of resources for research material.
The participants learned the skills to review literature, develop a hypothesis, frame research design, and comprehend the role and relevance of the tools for data collection and analysis. Participants found all the sessions very informative.
