The AAP and BJP workers had come face to face at the Ganesh Utsav festival held in the city’s Simada area on Tuesday. Sorathiya, who was present on the spot was hit by some unknown on his head with wooden sticks and pipes, leaving him profusely bleeding. The injured Sorathiya was immediately rushed to the hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister tweeted, “It is improper to criticise opposition members in this manner. In elections, we continue to win and lose, but violently destroying the opposition is against the culture of Gujarat, and the people do not approve. I urge the Chief Minister of Gujarat to punish the perpetrators severely and protect everyone.”
Unleashing an attack on Gujarat BJP, Isudan Gadhvi said alleged it was a pre-planned life-threatening attack on Manoj Sorathiya in Surat. The goons of the BJP are involved in the attack on AAP’s Pradesh Secretary. Before Manoj Sorathiya could gauge the situation was hit by a PVC pipe on his head, leaving him in a pool of blood.
Gadhvi said, “About eight AAP leaders in Gujarat have been attacked similarly in different parts of Gujarat. Now, the BJP goons are targeting me and AAP Pradesh president, Gopal Italiya.”
