Adani Wilmar and Akshaya Patra Foundation feed 3.60 lakh underprivileged children on Gautam Adani’s 60th birthday

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India]: Adani Wilmar Limited, one of the seven listed companies of the Adani Group, celebrated the 60th birthday of Gautam Adani nobly by providing meals to underprivileged children for six days starting from June 24.

Adani Wilmar in association with the Akshaya Patra Foundation provided meals to over 3.60 lakh, underprivileged schoolchildren, in Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara.

Adani Wilmer Ltd. CEO and MD Angashu Mallik said, “We at Adani Wilmar are delighted to celebrate the 60th birthday of Gautam Adani by feeding around 60,000 children daily over six days. At the same time, we are also happy to be associated with the Akshay Patra Foundation, which helped us carry out this noble work of delivering food to the underprivileged kids at various municipal schools in Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara. What made the occasion even more special was the active engagement of our employees.”

Several employees of the Adani Wilmar Ltd served food to these children and became a part of the joyous celebrations. The meal was distributed to children from over 215 municipal schools across Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat. As part of their meals, the children were served khichdi/pulav, rotli/thepla, sukhadi/ churma and snacks like chana chaat/masala sing. The meals for each venue were planned and arranged by Akshaya Patra Foundation.

Jaganmohan Krishna Dasa, president, of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Gujarat, said, “Our mission is to feed as many underprivileged children as we can. With close 360,000 children being fed nutritious food, the company couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the 60th birthday of their trendsetter pioneer.
