Ayush National Task Force of ASSOCHAM celebrated International Yoga Day

New Delhi [India] : ASSOCHAM’s  Ayush  National Task Force celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21. A series of events were organised for the   members of ASSOCHAM in the presence of Chairman Dr Sudipta Narayan Roy, also the MD of Powell Group, Director of Indian Achiever’s Forum, New Delhi and Member of the Governing body of Brainware University

Early in the morning, STPI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India organised yoga shivir in their Salt Lake Sector V campus under  Manjit Kumar Nayek, Director, STPI and in association with ASSOCHAM Eastern Region led by Perminder Kaur.

Nayek initiated the program with the pledging ceremony for incorporating yoga as part of life. As Chairman of the ASSOCHAM Ayush NTF, Dr Roy addressed the gathering of software professionals and Government officials with his inspiring speech and emphasised the relevance of yoga. The yoga shivir was jointly conducted by the software professionals, Navneet Lodha from ASSOCHAM and Sanatan Bera of STPI.

Later, Dr. Roy was invited for a live interview by Doordarshan, wherein he discussed the purpose of yoga and its processes and relevance in an erudite manner. He emphasised the relevance of yoga as a holistic healthcare system to cope with the issues of psycho-somatic derangements.

Later in the afternoon, Dr. Roy was invited by the Brainware University as the Chief Guest in the Seminar on ‘Yoga and Pharmacotherapy’    organised by Prof B B Barik of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology under the leadership and guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhay of Brainware University.

Dr. Roy, in his speech, inspired the students and faculty members to incorporate yoga into their daily life.
