Gandhidham (Gujarat) [India], March 14 : Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) successfully conducted a three-day seminar for aspiring umpires at the Haresh Sangtani Sports Complex in Gandhidham.
The seminar, which was held from March 11 to 13, was conducted by international technical official Dr. Atul Dubey and was supported by GSTTA Technical Committee chairman Mr. Hari Pillai.
Rajkot’s Darshana Dixit, Vadodara’s Arvind Dandekar, Kachchh’s Naresh Bhambhani, Navsari’s Zarvan Patel and Gandhinagar’s Chirag Gandhi scored the highest marks in the seminar. In all, 25 aspirants from all over the state took part in the seminar, which was conducted keeping in mind the need and importance of the officials in the changing times as GSTTA looks to expand and upgrade its team of officials.
“Kudos to all the officials who had attended the seminar and my heartiest congratulations to every one of them who had awarded certification on successful completion,” GSTTA president, Vipul Mittra said. “In these changing times, we look to have more competent members in our technical team. The seminar hopes to achieve that as well as upgrade our existing members so that they can get more opportunities at the higher level,” Mr.Mittra, IAS, added.
GSTTA secretary, Kushal Sangtani said, “I am hopeful that the seminar will be beneficial for those who want to appear for the International Umpires’ Exam which is slated to be held later this year.”
