Surat : The Bengali migrants settled in the diamond city for years have been celebrating the 54th Durga Puja under the aegis of the Bengal Club of Surat (BCS) at Surat Municipal Corporation’s (SMC) Children Hall near Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple in Adajan.

Bengalis from across the city have been attending the Durga Puja with zeal and devotion, maintaining the Covid-19 SOP guidelines and restrictions. Despite the fact that the migrant Bengalis are more than 2,000 kilometres away from their home state, they feel at home in the vibrant city of Surat.

The Durga Puja started from 6th day of Navratri and that it will culminate on the 10th day of the Dussehra celebration.

On the 10th day of Dussehra, Bengali devotees in the city will perform the immersion of Goddess Durga idols in the Arabian Sea at Dumas on October 15th.
