Surat-based Taal Group performs pre-Navratri Garba in front of the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at SoU.

Surat: For the first time, the city-based Taal group organized a unique pre-Navratri celebration in front of the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity (SoU). The streaming of the Garba performed by the members of the Taal group will be available on the FB starting from 6 pm on the first day of Navratri on Thursday.

The garba was organized on the auspicious occasion of Navratri in association with the CIPFF India and ICCR Gujarat.

Navratri celebrations depict the distinct identity of Gujarat’s culture, which has a different glory. People from all over the world are always eager to enjoy the traditional Garba of Gujarat.

Krutika Shah, founder director, and choreographer of Taal Group told TBT, “About 20 women of the Taal group participated in the unique Garba event in front of the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Statue of Unity. The Garba was performed on the son, ‘Sanj Dhali Mara Aanganiye, Amba Padharo Re’. I directed and choreographed this song and we had a lot of fun performing at the SoU”

According to Shah, the Taal Group had successfully organized an international folk dance festival in Surat last year.  The Taal Group is an organization formed only for women.
