Surat: The Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s Vyatka State University, located in the Kirov region, and formed a joint committee here on Monday.
Official sources said the MoU was signed on Monday between the VNSGU and the Vyatka State University and a committee has been formed to ensure that the students from Surat and South Gujarat get admission in Russia, exchange of students between Surat and Russia, an exchange program for the professors of both the universities and the exchange of research in various fields.
A virtual meeting was held under the chairmanship of VNSGU’s vice-chancellor, KN Chavda where the chairman of the committee, Dr. MN Reddy of the Biosciences department, Dr. Gaurang Rami from the Economics department, and other members including Dr. Paresh Joshi from the English department, Dr. Rajesh Patel from Biosciences department remained present.
From Vyatka State University, the faculties including Fomin Sergey, Irina Merkulova, Romanov Irina, Bikova Olga, Kazakov Andre, and Alena Genebinak remained present.
Vyatka State University is one of Russia’s classical universities located in Kirov, the regional center of the Kirov region. Vyatka State University is the main “supplier” of personnel with professional education for leading sectors of the regional economy and authorities.
It was established as a higher technical educational institution, inextricably linked with the region’s manufacturing industry. Today Vyatka State University successfully combines traditions and innovations in the field of higher technical education with humanities.
According to the VNSGU VC, KN Chavda, it was decided in the virtual meeting and MoU signing event that both the universities will work on the exchange of students and faculties and that the virtual exhibition on education will be organized shortly.
The association of VNSGU and Vyatka State University will pave way for the international seminars, research and that it will encourage the students from Surat and South Gujarat region to study in the exchange program in the Russian university.
