<\/p>\nANAND: Bhavya Jaiswal, a young player from the diamond city of Surat, hogged the limelight with two consecutive wins on day one of the four-day-long Rotomag, the 3rd<\/sup> Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament-2021 being organized by the Anand District Table Tennis Association (ADTTA) under the aegis of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) starting from October 14.<\/p>\n At the spacious Yugpurush Vivekanand Sports Complex in Bakrol in Anand, Bhavya, who is ranked seventh in the state, edged out Bhavnagar\u2019s Sonal Joshi by 11-7, 11-8, 11-4 in Women\u2019s opening round.<\/p>\n Bhavya looked in great touch as she had also recorded a convincing 11-2, 11-3, 11-6 win over Bhavnagar\u2019s Bhoomi Bambhaniya in the Junior Girls\u2019 (U-19) opening round.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, in other women\u2019s round one matches of the tournament, title sponsored by Rotomag Motors Private Limited and co-sponsored by Vidya Wires Private Limited, Atlanta Electricals Limited, Charotar Gas Sahkari Mandali Limited, and Milcent Appliances Private Limited, Ahmedabad\u2019s Shiney Gomes breezed past Surat\u2019s Heta Naik with 11-0, 11-2, 11-7 while Bhavnagar\u2019s Riya Jayswal, who is ranked 10th in the state, edged out Ahmedabad\u2019s Niyati Patel 11-3, 11-8, 11-1.<\/p>\n Baroda\u2019s Purva Nimbalkar defeated Ahmedabad\u2019s Zena Solanki 11-7, 11-4, 11-7 while Surat\u2019s Mili Tanna, who is joint second in the Junior Girls\u2019 (U-17) category, defeated Anand\u2019s Bindu Bhaija 11-5, 11-2, 11-3.<\/p>\n In the Junior Girls\u2019 (U-19) category, Bhavnagar\u2019s Khushi Jadav came from a game down to beat rising star Pratha Pawar of Ahmedabad 11-13, 11-7, 11-9, 11-7.<\/p>\n Member of Parliament Miteshbhai Patel, in the presence of guest of honor Umesh Balani, CMD Rotomag Motors Private Limited, and other dignitaries including SS Rathi, MD, Vidya Wires, \u00a0Kiranbhai Patel, MD, CGSM Limited, and Harshad Mehta, MD, Atlanta Electricals Limited, inaugurated the tournament earlier in the day.<\/p>\n Speaking on the occasion, MP \u00a0Miteshbhai Patel said, \u201cWhen our PM Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he laid the foundation for the promotion of sports through the ambitious Khel Mahakumbh.
