Vijayan stated the farmers and customers of DGVCL are getting an adequate power supply.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, DGVCL MD, Arvind Vijayan said, \u201cRumour mongers are trying to malign the image of DGVCL. We want to clarify to our esteemed customers and farmers that there is no power shortage in South Gujarat\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Vijayan, South Gujarat\u2019s power consumers are getting daily power supply in a continuous and timely manner against the current demand of 3,650 megawatts. There is currently no shortage of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Vijayan further said the 50-100 megawatt of load shedding (power cut) is carefully divided into 96 slots of 15 minutes each, to ensure that the consumers get 24 hours of uninterrupted power supply. The DGVCL has operationalized about four new power generation units.<\/p>\n<p>Vijayan said, \u201cThe demand for agricultural feeders in rural areas was 12 MW during the monsoon season, which has now increased to 165 MW. We are ensuring timely and adequate power supply to farmers in the region.
