AM/NS India’s inter-departmental football league kicks off in Hazira

Half of the villagers from Hazira and Gundardi fled away to Surat due to pollution caused by AM/NS India

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS India) kicked off its football league in Hazira on Tuesday.

The first tournament of the football league was played between the women teams from the company, while the second match saw the senior leaders against each other.

The football league was inaugurated in the presence of Anil Matoo, Head of HR, IR, and Administration at AM/NS India, Santosh Mundhada, Hazira Plant head, and other senior management at the Central Ground in AM/NS township in Hazira.

The AM/NS Football League will witness 12 matches starting from Wednesday,  featuring 16 teams from different departments of AM/NS India’s integrated steel complex at Hazira. Each of the matches will be of 40 minutes and will be played in the evening hours.

The league will culminate on May 21. A total of 246 employees and officials of AM/NS India Hazira are participating.
